Film Production Safety

Our goal is to create an industry recognized standard and checklist of things that productions should be aware of an adhere to that will ensure that you have a safe working environment. 

As a producer and production company owner I have successfully managed hundreds of productions that have dealt with virtually every element of production ranging from aerial to water to location and studio shoots. What I have often encountered are little to no safety plans or precautions which led me to become OSHA, Covid, and Lifeguard certified and gain an extensive understanding of the required safe operating practices that each particular shoot provides 

We want safe sets to become a brand stamp that ensures that a plan has been discussed and everyone can feel safe that there is a quality assurance check in place. 

We want to offer two sets of services. A comprehensive production plan which overseas every aspect of production from parking to infrastructure to Covid protocols to physical attributes of a production ranging from rigging, to stunts, to weapons and vehicle use. We have industry professionals in every discipline that we can draw upon to ensure a production is safe and we want to indemnify you from liability as the Safe Set company. 

The next tier is individual services. Whether it's a need for permitting, or ensuring that you are working with a licensed armorer, or have a Covid supervisor and good plan we can accommodate a solution for a production's needs. 

OSHA standard review of production. Everything from hazardous activities to safe work practices including Fire Safety, Electrical, Emergency Evacuation Plans, and Fire Extinguisher Review.

Covid Review. Review of testing facilities, holding areas, transportation and separation of individuals based on testing and role. Eating and drinking, and bathrooms and specifying recommendations for higher safeguards. Blocking scenes, masking requirements and how to course correct in the event of a positive test result. 

Lifeguard working at a pool, beach, or even performing a simulated Baptism can require a Lifeguard. We can provide.

Parking Working in New York City can be challenging and situating trucks and picture cars can be difficult. We can secure parking and ensure your driving route is permitted that you have the protection to feel comfortable and secure.

Permitting Likewise knowing how to properly permit for a scene or production is a specialty we are experts. Are you using a Manlift or require a driving route? Are there stunts? Or wetdown of a street? We can not only permit this but we can ensure you have the right people and safety for the activity. 

Fire Safety & Locations We can help review your locations and holding areas and ensure they comply with SAG, Covid Protocols, and that there are emergency exits, building codes are up to date and if a set build is taking place the materials used are in compliance with the Fire Department. There is full range of services this can entail. 

Weapons Are you using a licensed armorer? Who is handling your props? Do you know the difference between NY loads, 1/4 loads, 1/2 loads and full loads? What can be permitted where? That FDNY also needs to review any charge? We know the protocols and safety to ensure you have a Safe Set.

Production Services We also offer a complete production services division everything from planning and conceptualization to full production. Complete logistics, payroll, and equipment and staff for both union and non-union productions or mixed bag. 

Police/Security We can also provide armed security and can coordinate with the Mayors Office and Movie TV Unit logistical and practical concerns to ensure that your set runs safely. This can also include Traffic Diversion. 

You need to feel confident that you have an independent review of a production plan and that that company is taking on liability absolving you of liability by ensuring a Safe Set.
